What Is Search Engine Optimization
Search Engine Optimization
SEO, or Search Engine Optimization, is the practice of improving a website's visibility on search engines like Google and Bing. The first step in SEO is selecting relevant and effective keywords that align with the website’s purpose, whether for business or other objectives. Once these keywords are chosen, the website is optimized to ensure it ranks well for those terms. The ultimate goal of SEO is to position the website at the top of search engine results, making it easily discoverable for users. This practice is essential for driving traffic and enhancing online visibility.
SEO is a highly practical, results-driven field. Its goal is to position a website at the top of Google search results, as Google is the primary search engine for most users today. Keywords vary widely depending on the business type; for example, the keywords relevant to a beauty parlor would differ significantly from those for a construction company. An SEO analyst researches purposeful and relevant keywords for a website and then optimizes it based on those keywords to improve its ranking and visibility.
When launching a new website, there are three main processes for getting it indexed on Google: crawling, caching, and indexing. First, Google’s crawling program, or "crawler," visits the new website and takes a snapshot of its content. In the next step, this snapshot is saved and categorized appropriately. Finally, the website is indexed, making it available in Google’s search results. Each step is essential for ensuring that the website becomes visible to users searching for relevant content.
SEO On Page Optimization
In the process of SEO for a website, specific adjustments are made to improve its visibility. When changes are applied across the entire website, this is referred to as On-Site Optimization.
